Spring starts at the same time when yellow adonis, Korean winter hazel, and witch hazel bloom.
The plants vigorously blossoming under a warm sun bring fresh signs of spring.
Frozen valleys are melted into the sound flowing water and birds singing.
Finally, the branches which have been thin during the winter start to become covered with verdure.
Every year, the exhibition is held under a diverse set of themes about a variety of plants so that you can see rare and precious wild flowers. About 60 types of wild flowers, which are not easily seen, are exhibited for you to feel the beauty of these precious and splendid wild flowers.
The Spring Festival is held from mid-April to the end of May every year. The garden, which is situated under a shining spring sun covered with verdure, creates a beautiful landscape together with Chuk-ryeong Mountain. Diverse spring flowers such as magnolia, azalea, Japanese apricot, forsythia, and cherry blossom bloom so that you can appreciate Spring full of bliss.
Summer is the season when the trees become greener and colorful perennial flowers blossom, which shows beauty equal to Spring.
However, unlike Spring when flowers bloom intermittently as groups, each flower shows its abundance and intensity in summer.
Why don’t you come see plants shining in summer such as hydrangea, clematis, rose, peony root, phlox, veronica, horsemint, lily, daylily, and water lily in the Eden Garden, Pond Garden, Morningcalm Walk, Moonlight Garden, Sunken Garden, and J’s Cottage Garden?
In June, the garden is full of violet iris. Iris is incredibly beautiful as shown in its name the Goodness of Rainbow Iris. It starts blooming from the end of May and continues to bloom till the end of June. You can appreciate more than 150 kinds of iris with diverse colors, shapes, and patterns in the Morning Square, Pond Garden, etc.
The Morningcalm Walk is full of blue hydrangea in July. The colony of hydrangea blooming along the walking path under the shade of Japanese larch makes you forget about the heat. Also, the beauty of the hydrangea that you can appreciate in nature, while breathing in fresh air, enables you to feel invigorated.
In the exhibition, five types of hydrangea, macrophylla hydrangea, paniculata hydrangea, arborescens hydrangea, serrata hydrangea and quercifolia hydrangea, are exhibited. You can appreciate differently shaped flowers and leaves and observe flower colors which change according to the acidity of land. Enjoy the beauty of hydrangea which is loved as the best and most attractive flower of Summer.
In hot summer, about 250 kinds of rose of sharon bloom, one by one, on the Rose of Sharon hill. The hill is covered with diverse colors of rose of sharon. How about forgetting about the heat and falling into the attractiveness of rose of sharon while walking in a cool valley and a dense forest?
The exhibition that shows a variety of attractive rose of sharon is also held. Around 100 varieties are exhibited. How it became the flower of our country, the story about its name, and diverse shapes and colors are shown so you can have more understanding about the rose of sharon.
In fall, the garden surrounded by Chuk-ryeong Mountain look like the beautiful color of water.
From everywhere, you can see beautifully colored, mountainous areas covered in colorful leaves.
The garden to which chrysanthemum adds its fragrance, shines with red leaves under the high and blue sky.
Come to the wild chrysanthemum exhibition(September 15, 2018 ~ October 14, 2018) and see more than 50 species of wild chrysanthemums that flower in the autumn fields. It's an opportunity to learn about the names of these flowers, which we only know as wild chrysanthemums. It’s also a great chance to view some new species that have been created through the cross-breeding of various chrysanthemums sourced from around Korea.
More than 200 exhibits including thousand bloom, pot-planting, spray forms, and special forms can be seen. The exhibition has been held annually for more than 10 years. It is one of the major exhibitions of the garden.
From October, the garden is full of the abundant and beautiful colors of Autumn. The colony of tall Japanese larch creates the peak of the landscape of the garden in autumn. Yellow and red colors of Korean winter hazel, gingko trees, katsura trees, and maple trees in every corner of the Garden of Morning Calm are well harmonized with each garden to show off the changing beauty from Spring and Summer.
The plants which boasted their beauty in Spring, Summer, and Fall start preparing for winter.
The garden which was once colorful is now covered with white snow. Birds’ songs and the sound of water flowing under ice, which can be heard in silence in nature while you walk on the path covered with white snow, will clear your mind.

When it becomes dark on a cold winter night, the garden starts waking up slowly as lights are turned on. The festival which starts every December and continues until March of the next year shows you a bright garden where nature and lights are well harmonized at night under diverse themes such as love, animals, and plants.
